The Women of the Word (WOW) is the women's ministry of Christian Tabernacle Church of God located in Washington, D.C. where Bishop William F. Hart, Jr, is the Senior Pastor. Bishop Hart founded the Women of the Word and its primary purpose is to enrich, train and encourage women to become holy and righteous women of God to serve in the Kingdom of God. The Bible says, "Write the vision and make it plain, that they may run and not faint." Bishop Hart wrote the vision for the ministry and now we are running and not fainting.
WOW has a history of running under the leadership of great women of God. WOW is currently under the leadership of Evangelist Angelo O. Lancaster who is the Pastor of WOW. Evangelist Lancaster has served Christian Tabernacle Church under Bishop Hart's leadership for more than 25 years. She has proven to be committed to the Lord first, and committed and faithful to the ministry and the vision that Bishop Hart set forth for the women's ministry.
Each year WOW host numerous services, trainings and events. Our main services/events are the spring revival held in March, the summer revival held in June, the fall revival held in October and the annual conference held in November. The Pastor of WOW always received instruction from the Lord and comes up with a theme each year. The theme for 2003 is "Women Empowered, Caught Up in Unity: Let's Celebrate! The theme scripture is Ephesians 4:3 (Amplified) "Be eager and strive earnestly to guard and keep the harmony and oneness of [and produced by] the spirit in the bonding power of peace." The meaning of "empowered" is to give power or authority to; authorize, enable, or permit. God is empowering us (the body of Christ) to do what ever it is that He has called us to do. Simply put, you are authorized to tell about the goodness of the Lord! You are permitted to use His word against the attacks of the enemy! You are enabled to use every tool that God has given you to continue in your walk with all the authority that He has has given you! YOU HAVE THE POWER!
Our next main event is the annual conference on November 6-8, 2003, entitled "Repairers of the Breach!" (Isaiah 58:9b-12) The purpose of this conference is to repair the "breach" that occurs in our individual lives as it is related to the work of ministry for the Kingdom.
